Biography

Anand Shrivastava teaches courses in economics and also serves as Associate Director of the Academic Office. He is also associated with the Centre for the Study of the Indian Economy (CSIE) at the University.

His doctoral research was on the economics of conflict. Since then he has worked on labour economics, the economics of networks, and the interactions between economics and questions of religion, politics and history. His current research interests include the economics of higher education and the use of artificial intelligence in education.

He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, along with an MPhil in Economic Research and a Graduate Diploma in Economics, also from Cambridge. Before turning to economics he trained as a mechanical engineer at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
